Why don’t we treat other people like we wanna be treated,
Or wear each other’s shoes before we get heated,
Or walk another’s path before we get mad?
Just think about the very last time that you had
To be right in your eyes when you fought with a friend,
Or someone that you loved and you knew in the end you were
Wrong, but you had to be right so you just kept fighting,
Not willing to admit your own faults. When we judge,
So we’re blinded and think we’re above other people,
It’s all of us walking this path, it’s all of our sinfulness,
Wanting what others have, having what others all want,
Not knowing that none of us got what we need.
This feeling of emptiness seizing this moment, believing
There’s got to be something that’s bigger than all of us.
Father in Heaven, please help us to love one another.

Some can’t forgive, so they live with a mindset of payback,
Wronging other people they never even met,
Neglecting to think how they felt when it happened to them.
A sick satisfaction repeating these actions.
It’s sad to see families in cycles abusing abusers,
This violence against all these innocent children,
Raised in environments not fit for living,
Taking the life they were given. Forgiveness the key
To forgetting, defeating these curses of epic proportions,
Redeeming us, making us whole—it’s all in the choices we’re given,
Restoring our vision for living, to know you’re forgiven,
To be born again and drop all the pains of the past,
Forgiving all others that wronged us at last.
